JULY 2005 - TYBEE ISLAND, GEORGIA

The Annual Meeting of the 2/3/3 Vietnam Era Association was conducted on August 6, 2005 at the Tybee Beach Resort Convention Center located on Tybee Island, Georgia.

CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order by President Jim Donovan at 0915 hrs.

ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: All present.

CHAIR APPOINTMENTS: President Donovan appointed the Company Representatives as acting Sergeant At Arms.

Alvin Simpson was appointed Chaplain as Chaplain Bill Smith was on leave.

MINUTES OF 2004: Secretary Radich read the minutes from the

previous Annual Meeting. M/S/C to accept the minutes as read.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Treasurer Harry Hoy read the Financial Report of the Association. The report was reviewed by the Audit Committee and recommended for approval. M/S/C To accept the Treasurer's Report as presented.

NEW BUSINESS:

BY-LAWS COMMITTEE: Vice President Frank Correia reported on the By-Laws Committee. The highlights of the Committee was to change the name of the Association to the 2/3 VIETNAM VETERAN'S ASSOCIATION, to dissolve the Data Base

Coordinator and to separate out the Newsletter from the By-Laws. Other language "clean up" changes were also made. M/S/C

to accept the By-Law changes.

M/S/C To update the Website.

M/S/C To move the DEB JENKINS fund to the general fund.

NOMINATIONS AND ELECTION OF 2005 - 2006 OFFICERS:

President: Frank Correia (unopposed)
Vice President: Alvin Simpson
  Rich Cummings
Alvin Simpson was elected to the position by the body.
Treasurer: Harry Hoy (unopposed)
Secretary: Doc Radich (unopposed)

M/S/C To seat the Officers for 2005 - 2006.

COMPANY REPRESENTATIVES: 

Elected by each Company for 2005 - 2006.
Echo: Jerry Mehling
Foxtrot: Rich Cummings
Golf: Paul Desruisseaux
Hotel: Ron Poness
H & S: Jim Terry
B-1-12: George Schieder

NEWSLETTER: M/S/C To mail newsletters to all in the Database.

2006 REUNION SITE PROPOSALS:

Jim Terry addressed the body with three proposals for the 2006 Reunion. Jim has been communicating with Armed Forces Reunion Services who arranges reunions for all service organizations. Offered were three sites: Washington D.C., San Antonio, Texas and New Orleans, Louisiana.  

M/S/C that the 2006 Reunion will be in New Orleans.

Jim will work in conjunction with Treasurer Harry Hoy to review plans, contracts and expenses.

M/S/C That the 2006 Reunion dates be held during the 2nd or 3rd week in September, 2006.

2007 Reunion Bid: Al Walker submitted a bid for the 2007 Reunion to be held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This bid is slated for the 2nd or 3rd week in September, 2007.

M/S/C that the Association receive the bid. No further action to be taken on this until the Annual Meeting in 2006.

POINTS OF INTEREST:

President Donovan addressed a reunion of "THE HILL FIGHTS" is scheduled for August, 2006 in San Antonio, Texas. More to come on this.

The By-Law Changes will be posted on the Associations Web Site when completed.
